Here's the Kern River, which I spent much time at while visiting my dad a couple of weeks ago.
This is about the spot where I caught my very first fish-a rainbow trout (not that I touched it or ate it). Also enjoyed swimming in the river and watching those who dared to go river rafting, despite the extremely low water level.

That's a good lookin' vacation. I don't think I've ever caught a fish (and it's not for lack of trying).
